The Best of Vegan Toronto at the 31st Veg Food Fest + unBake-Off this weekend!

Hey Toronto! It is day 2 of the 31st Annual Toronto Veg Food Fest, presented by the Toronto Vegetarian Association. The event runs all weekend long, today until 9pm and Sunday 12-7pm. It's a free event so no excuses, you still have plenty of time to head down to Harbourfront and check out this high-vibe event! I recommend arriving hungry as there are over 130 vendors, local restaurants, and bakeries showcasing their 100% vegan eats and products! There are also free presentations, events, cooking demos and loads of veg-friendly products for sale. What's more, this is the biggest veg fest in North America, celebrating over 30 years of delicious food - now that's something to be proud about Toronto!

Oh and, I'll be there too, as a participant in unBake-Off presented by The Totally Fabulous Vegan Bake-Off, at the Wine Garden Stage at 4pm this Sunday, September 13th! Participants will be providing samples of their entries (read: free food!) and will be presenting cooking demos featuring their entries! I am very excited to be participating in great company alongside Liz from Unbaked Cake Co and Nomz Energy Bites (who has a booth in the Lakeview Market). Check out the Totally Fabulous Vegan Bake-Off's Facebook Page here  to learn all about the amazing contestants.

My raw vegan entry is something extra-delicious, featuring local peaches from Bizjak Farms that I picked up fresh this morning at the Evergreen Brick Works Farmers' Market. To learn more about Bizjak Farms check out my feature about Evergreen Brick Works here (they're listed under my "Top Vendor Picks"). My recipe will also showcase Manitoba Harvest Hemp (really keeping it local here) and none other than Giddy YoYo superfoods! You'll find Giddy at Veg Fest all weekend in the Lakeview Market, go say hey and sample some of their out of this world heirloom chocolate, like their new Chia Spice, it's bomb!

While you're at Veg Fest make sure you go check out my friend Sarah of Natural Code, Toronto’s green beauty destination, offering a carefully curated collection of natural and certified organic cosmetics and skin care. Natural Code is in the Lakeview Market along with Sudsatorium  - my top choice for locally, hand-crafted, organic and vegan body and hair cosmetics!

Also, while you're in the Lakeview Market, be sure to stop by the following local Toronto vendor's booths:

Good Food For Food's booth for seriously good, organic and vegan sauces, including Fresh Indian Sauces, Fresh Spreads and tasty Fresh Mexican Sauces!

Check out NudFud for raw, organic, gluten-free crackers with delicious flavour combinations.

You'll want to stop by RawFoodz for raw and super healthy dressings, dips, spreads and more! My favourite ultimate combo are the BBQ Crackers from NudFud with Wild Ranch Dip from RawFoodz - the best!

Another must visit is Wood & Water Foods Inc. for drool-worthy nut cheeses and cheez cake pops.

Hope to see you at the unBake-Off!

Much Love,
